Close your eyes and visualise yourself in a beautiful luxury ski hotel. Pretty good, right?

Now, on top of that, imagine enjoying a completely personalised service and a truly inviting and relaxing atmosphere. No austere hotel foyers or impersonal lounges to be seen. Imagine a place where the staff is exclusively dedicated to providing you with a fantastic level of service, without having to attend to hundreds of other hotel guests.

Imagine luxurious accommodation that has been decorated with originality and care, and which blends beautiful traditional features with state-of-the-art technology and amenities, such as hot tub, wine cellar, flat screen TVs/DVDs and internet access.

Finally, as the icing on the cake, imagine that this place comes with chauffeur and concierge service to take the stress out of the less delightful aspects of travelling; a highly-experienced chef who will cater to your party’s tastes, ski in/ski out access to the finest pistes in the world, and ski rental equipment that is brought to your chalet for you to make your selection at your convenience and comfort.

What you have visualised is a luxury catered ski chalet. You will quite simply enjoy the pinnacle of luxury in a very discreet and personal manner, where every aspect of your holiday is carefully planned to ensure you have an amazing and memorable break.

The extra touches will just add to your enjoyment, from tea or coffee in bed, breakfast cooked to order and afternoon tea daily; daily champagne receptions and canapés; open bar, including spirits, beers and soft drinks; fresh flowers and daily international newspapers; luxury bath products and toiletries.

In my opinion, some of the best skiing in the world can be found in Val d’Isere, justly famous for its huge Espace-Killy ski area and magnificent mountain network. The location of the best catered ski chalets offers spectacular uninterrupted views of the Manchet Valley and Vanoise National Park.

A Guide to Croatia’s Best Beaches

Drazica Beach

Biograd na Mora is situated in the center of the Adriatic coast, a popular destination for Croatia holidays. In an area of marinas, promenades and blue-flag beaches, this is the ideal area for a beach holiday in the sun. Croatia holiday villas are plentiful, and you can find the perfect villa to complete your perfect beach holiday.

This section of the coastline sports views of the Pasman channels and the small islands within it. With a choice of beaches along the promenade, just south of the city center, you can find a beach that suits you without venturing too far. Drazica beach itself has been awarded a blue flag, with pebbles lining the shore and lush vegetation surrounding it. A Croatia holiday villa in this area would most likely be situated within very close proximity of the beaches, making for a perfect Croatia holiday by the beach.

For a smaller beach, Soline would be perfect, situated in a small cove which is also extremely beautiful. And for those wanting a bit of peace and quiet, Kumenat is a far less popular beach, yet no less pleasant. Crvena Luka is a little further away, but the golden sands of this little cove are worth the effort. No matter what your choice, the beaches of Biograd na Mora will make your Croatia holiday relaxing and enjoyable.

Brela Beaches

Brela is situated south of Split and north of Makarsda. It is a beautiful and quaint village, with 6km of white pebbly beach surrounded by fig trees, olive groves and pine woods. Its gentle slope into the sea makes the area ideal for family Croatia holidays, with two blue flag beaches to choose from, set below the towering Biokovo mountain.

Punta Rata is a long resort beach surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops. It is both convenient and beautiful, and is perfect for spending lazy days in the sun. A Croatia villa holiday would be ideal here, where you can flit between your villa pool and the warm ocean waters in a short space of time.

Berulija is a good option too, situated beneath a hotel, and providing an all-day holiday feel. With three small coves, you can enjoy some peace and seclusion in this beautiful island destination, where sunshine and warm water make up the most part of your Croatia holiday.

Rajska Plaza

If it is choice and diversity you’re after, this island is perfect. From rocky to sandy to pebbly beaches, this island offers it all, making a Croatia villa holiday a tailor made experience. The most popular beach on the island is Lopar’s Paradise Beach, a literal piece of island paradise. It is one of the most famous beaches on the Adriatic, and its popularity and reputation serve as a testament to its beauty. Fine sand meets clear, warm water, with water temperatures in summer reaching 28 degrees.

Great for children, the water remains shallow for meters and meters as you wander out. And with a range of sporting activities close by, this beach offers the perfect Croatia holiday for the whole family. With tennis and volleyball courts, mini golf, water sports and more, you could spend hours at this beach every day without getting bored. There are some beautiful beaches nearby too, so a walk along the coast is an excellent way to spend an afternoon.
